Weekend Recap

Yeah  I know the weekend isn't over yet, but I'm about to remove my ass from the couch in order to get a few things done around the house before the start of another week. It's now or never yo.

This weekend consisted of a lot of this:

And this:

Oh.... and this. Lots of this:

What it did not consist of was very much exercise. Might as well be honest, right?? Anyway, tomorrow is Monday, my fave day of the week to start over. Who's with me? Bueller? Bueller?

I digress. I've gotten a few bites to have a accountability group starting July 28. I realize that I don't like being all salesperson with my friends, so if they need a program, I'm glad to help. If they already have one, cool.

I've got my workouts scheduled (still TurboFire/PiYo hybrid) and meals are being worked on in my head as we speak.

It's going to be a great week. A turns 4 on Friday #holdme and to celebrate T and I will be taking her to a water park to celebrate. She is already practically vibrating with excitement.
I've got 2 awesome packages coming this week StitchFix !!! (referral link ) and Fabletics (referral link) and I can't wait to devour them both! I LOVE getting mail. Seriously. I'm also a crazy person with the tracking of my packages. I must know where my shit is every second it's in transit. Just me? I doubt it. HA.

Have a great Sunday night peeps. I'm off to get some eats ready for the week and spend some more quality time with the family.

Hanging in there

Posting from my phone - pardon that.

The last two days have been hectic work wise. This is good for many reasons. Weight wise because I can't stuff my face when I'm working away from my desk. No time for snacking. Which can also be bad. Today I had my Shakeology on the way to work, and didn't get to eat lunch until 1, about 7 hours later. I was hungry hungry.

We had happy hour after work, well we called it a 'team outing'. I call that happy hour.
I digress. I got peer pressured into a margarita. At least it was only one. And - major win for me was staying away from the chips and salsa. Yeah me!!

I have been following my workouts to a T. I am also thankful I've been able to get up at 430-5am and get them in. I have for zero motivation for that shit after working all day.
I got myself a new fancy planner that I will fill out with all of my planned workouts. I'm also hoping to do my meal planning there.
I really thrive on organization and keeping things straight. It makes me happy, and let's face it. It's part of my type A.

This weekend will be challenging. A summer holiday weekend. Yikes for the diet. I really am excited for this weekend though. Time with family, beautiful weather and food and drinks. I've got healthy food planned. Still need to hit the store after work tomorrow. The day before July 4. I give it 30 seconds inside before I want to kill someone. Good times.

Next week my baby girl turns 4... Snif. I'll be staying busy getting ready for her small party and a day at the waterpark for the 3 of us to celebrate.

I think that's enough randomness for today! Happy Independence Day All!!

The Before

Today I took some photos. Some before photos. I cannot wait to see the after photos. I am committing myself to this program. This is my life. I am doing this for my family. For myself. For my daughter. I need to get healthy. These photos of me are very eye opening, and I can't say I'm pleased.

And my starting weight:

I really think that admitting this and seeing these photos and the numbers on the scale in all their glory will be a catalyst for me. No longer can I hide from the truth. I knew for a long time that I was getting bigger, but I was staying away from the scale. That way my fears couldn't be confirmed.
Makes sense, right? Wrong. No More.

Today I slept in. Whoops, already off on a bad foot. Or is it? I got home and really just wanted to sit down and relax. Instead, I got on my workout gear, told my daughter to come check on me and cheer me on every couple of minutes, and I got to work. Almost 600 calories later, and I felt so much better. And, my daughter did a great job coaching me!

My diet was super on point today as well. ljk830 on Myfitnesspal :)

Hope everyone had a great day. Be back tomorrow.

Time to start

What a weekend... After a great day spent with friends at the lake yesterday, today we all woke up a little tired. I hate it when that happens. Throw in a trip to Wal-Mart where I carry a screaming 3 year old out and, well, I'm spent. Now it's rest time, and after a quick nap myself (!) it's time to gear up for another week.

It's Sunday... the day around here where everything starts fresh. A fridge full of (sometimes healthy) food. Clean sheets. Clean house. This week, it's also time for a fresh start for yours truly.
A new schedule is happening round these parts. 2 a days.

Mornings will be spent with Chalene Johnson, and Turbo Fire. This is a challenging, fast paced workout, guaranteed to give you results. It can be quite high impact, but there are modifiers which still provide an excellent workout without as much impact. I absolutely love this workout program and have personally lost 35 pounds using it.

To fire it up another notch, and test out a new program at the same time, introducing:

Evening will be spent with.... Chalene Johnson and PiYo! Didn't see that one coming, did ya? :) If you haven't heard of PiYo, it's the newest brainchild of Chalene Johnson, and incorporates Pilates and Yoga. I've begun sampling the workouts, and so far I love it. It feels great to get such a great stretch in, and that fact that it is low impact is especially great. No pounding on my joints! Love.

I will be basically following the program guides provided with each workout program, modifying when needed. I am really very excited about this.

Another new thing I will be trying is Shakeology. I am in need of some nutrition help, and I'm hoping to use Shakeology for breakfast. It has an incredible nutritional value, and I'm excited to have a chocolate "shake" every morning!

Today I switched it around and planned for my Shakeology for lunch. I had this beautiful plate for breakfast, and it was lovely. Homemade salsa a la Pioneer Woman (I make a batch of this once a week without fail), half an avocado over 3 scrambled eggs. Strawberries on the side. Delicious. Speaking of breakfast, I find that I am much more satisfied when I have protein as my main focus for breakfast (instead of carbs) and a dose of healthy fat. It is really very amazing the difference in the way I feel when I eat this way. I will be sure to keep you all posted.

Stay tuned for some before shots and measurements tomorrow. Don't we all love those. I am also toying around with a Facebook motivational group. If anyone would like to join, please comment and let me know.

Have a great Sunday!

Intro

Hey guys! What's up. My name is Lindsey, I'm a 30ish year old. I am a wife, mom, FT employee, daughter, sister, etc etc.

You get the picture.

I'm busy, I have a lot on my plate.

I'm also trying to get healthy, and STAY healthy! I'm hoping to use this to be accountable - just need to actually gain followers first! HA.

I have been overweight for most of my life, nothing extreme, but enough to be noticeable, to be the "big girl" among friends, and to have issues while shopping for clothes.

When my husband and I decided to start a family, I weighed 260 lbs. I knew there was NO way I could handle seeing 300 lbs on the scale, and that there was a good chance I'd hit that with pregnancy weight.

So.. I put my head down, focused, worked my ass off, and lost 50 lbs. Still not "thin", but in pretty great shape. I kept my weight in check during pregnancy - gained about 20-25 lbs, and was able to get down to pregnancy weight within a couple of weeks.

When my daughter (almost 4 years now) was an infant, working out was no problem. Sure, I was tired, but damn, I could sit her down, and she'd stay where I put her! By the time she hit 7 months? Not a chance in hell that that kid was sitting still. Kill me. So, I started working out during my lunch hour at a gym. I'm a sweater when I work out, big time. But I got it done. I got down to 195lbs, and was really happy with that.

Now, I weight about 240, I slacked off, I got extremely lazy with both working out and eating the right things, and here I am. Pissed at myself, and trying to get myself back on track. That shit is hard. I want to eat pizza, and burgers, and fries.

And cookies.

And cake.

And chips.

I digress. I need focus, I need motivation, and I need accountability!

I'm going to try and "recruit" some readers... so it's not just me saying these things.

Be back tomorrow.. I'm expecting a new workout program in the mail.. PIYO for the win!

Later Gators!
